Ridings Equine Vets has a portable video endoscopy units which shows the image on a computermonitor which allows you to see exactly what we see and to fully understand any abnormalities we find.
The video endoscope allows us to visualise the upper airways and the trachea and collect samples. It can also be used to investigate urogenitial problems.
Conditions that can be investigated with the video endoscope include:
- Nasal discharge
- Nose bleeds
- Coughing
- Guttural pouch disease
- Poor performance
- Respiratory allergies
- Pneumonia
- Choke
- Bladder stones
- Urination problems
- Retained placenta in mares
- Mare uterine cysts
